“For the law of the Spirit of Life has freed me…” (Romans 8:2a)
I’m a believer from the church in Tacoma. I began meeting in the local church in 1998. I was born into a Christian family, but did not really experience Christ as my life until I met with the local church. I didn’t even know that I could experience Christ as my life. Before I came to the church, I spent two years in the denomination where I had been baptized. During those two years I really tried to follow the Lord by keeping His high moral law (Matthew 5-6). I knew that it had to be fulfilled by me (actually “in me” Romans 8:4), but I couldn’t fulfill it.
Through ministry books written by Witness Lee and Watchman Nee and the shepherding of the believers in the church, God unveiled to me that in my spirit I have the Spirit, and even more, the law of the Spirit of life (1 Corinthians 15:45; 6:17; Romans 8:2). By my obedience to this law of the Spirit of life, and by the spreading of this Spirit of life into my being, I can be free from the law of sin and of death. Hallelujah! This truth really brought me into real experiences of Christ as my life. It is marvelous to experience that what I could not do, Christ, who is the wonderful life-giving Spirit, does in me (1 Corinthians. 15:45b).
“That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.” (Romans 8:4)
