I Found It!

As a young person in my teens, I often wondered if what I saw of life was all there really was. It seemed so senseless. We are born, go to school, get a job, have a family, and die. What for?

I had heard the gospel from childhood but had no desire to join “religion”. The Lord introduced Himself to me through my husband-to-be and the many desperate conversations he had with Him. Praise the Lord, He became more real to me than religion and I was saved.

We started to go to “church” because that’s what we thought we were supposed to do, but we were unsatisfied with the Christian groups with whom we met. We read about the churches in the New Testament, but where were they today? We were looking for those who loved Jesus. Through much prayer the Lord had a way to unveil to us His delight.

In 1980 we went to our first meeting of the local church and that changed the rest of our lives. The Lord is so faithful! We found it! We found the meaning of our human life—our human spirit! The Lord became the life-giving Spirit to get into our human spirits to become our life. This, we found in the local church.
